How and Where to Connect with Potential Customers

Coach’s Corner – How and Where to Connect with Potential Customers

Connection is the key ingredient to being a Beachbody coach, but sometimes we feel stuck in who to connect with and how to reach out. If you’ve been talking to the same five people all the time, rather than reaching out and growing your network, you might be hounding them. And that doesn’t do anyone any good.

It’s time to connect authentically with new people to grow your network and your client base.

But I’ve exhausted every possibility already!

Not so fast. Chances are that you have untapped opportunities to connect with people, so long as you have a desire to help others. (And I know you do!)

First, make sure you’re a product of the product and that you’re talking about your journey. This is easy to spotlight on social media–posting your workouts, your shakes, and talking about your personal development.

And then be sure you’re engaging in conversations.

This isn’t about sending out blanketed invitations to people; that’s not having a conversation. This is about connecting with people in your own life, asking about their lives, and engaging in natural conversations.

It’s about building relationships. Finding out what they’re struggling with and sharing your own struggles. Offering feedback and support. Being truly authentic. And then inviting them to join you.

Sound like a lot of work? It is! And it’s incredibly rewarding work. Plus it’s fun to get to know new people!

So where can you find these people to connect with? I’ve met new friends and customers at:

  • The dog park
  • The post office
  • At my kids’ sporting events
  • Through family and friends
  • Online

Honestly, there’s no limit to where you can connect with people. Have a hobby? Find a Facebook or Meet-up group! You already have a point of connection (the hobby) so it will be easy to get to know one another more–either in person or online.

Are you an expert in something? Like cross-stitch or furniture restoration? Teach others your skill and establish a connection that way!

The key is to find something you have in common with others and grow a relationship with them.

One point to note: Building relationships is a long game. It takes time to get to know people and build relationships. But this is where the gold is, as far as quality is concerned. You’ll build deeper connections with more dedicated people by using this method to business growth.
