Coach’s Corner: Make 2021 Your Most Successful Coaching Year

It’s a new year and it’s time to get your business started back up on the right foot. This is the time of year customers are looking for a solution to help them with their New Year’s resolutions. You have that solution! And for you, this means an opportunity for business growth.

But first, you need to know what you’re aiming for.

Every business owner needs to set goals for the coming year. So let me ask you: Do you have your 2021 goals laid out yet? If not, it’s time to do that.

Don’t over-complicate things with elaborate goals of how many BOD memberships you’ll sell and how many coaches you’ll help and how many challenge packs you’ll sell and how much you’ll make each month.

Instead, make it simple and focus on how many people you’ll help each week and each month. Measurable outreach that you can control is the focus. That’s what will bring on the growth for you. Arbitrary sales goals that you have no control over just set you up for not feeling very good about your results.

Track Your Connections

A good goal is to determine how many people you’ll connect with on a daily or weekly basis. This is easily trackable and you determine whether you reach that goal or not; you’re not waiting for someone to take action. Have a tracking sheet handy–on your calendar, by your computer, or even on your phone–to keep track of every time you connect with someone new. This could be as simple as a Post-It where you make a tick mark every time you connect with someone. Or it could be a spreadsheet where you write down each contact’s name and email address and what you talked about.

Track Your Coaching Invitations

Of course, growing your downline can help you grow your business too. Not every customer has an interest in being a coach, and not every customer would make a good coach. But keeping notes on those who you might want to invite to be a coach someday will help you reach your business goals. When you feel they’re ready, send out an invitation!

Track Your Success Club

I’ve hit Success Club every month since it began over 11 years ago, a track record only one or two other coaches in the company can claim. I have been incredibly consistent with invitations and connections and I keep track of every point I earn toward Success Club. When I feel like I’m falling short in a particular month, knowing how close I am through a visual reminder helps me to work just a little bit harder so I can hit it.

Track Your Vital Behaviors

In order to be successful, you need to use the products, invite others to join you, recognize customers for their results, and work on personal development. I’ve already talked about tracking how many connections and invitations you send out. But do you have a way to keep track of your personal development, sharing results, and your workout programs? Have a tracking sheet so you know you’re sharing customers’ success stories every week and a place to check off your workout and Shakeology every day. Use an app like Goodreads to keep track of the personal development books you read.

You do what you track, so it’s so important to write down your actions so you can look back at how consistent you’ve been. When you start to see holes in your tracking sheet, you know it’s time to step it up and get more consistent again.

Are you ready to do the work and grow a successful business? Send me an email and let’s talk!
