Coach’s Corner: Get Ready for Growth in 2021

This is the time of year when our customers are thinking about health commitments for next year. They’re ready to make a change and to try something different in the new year.

It’s also the time to think about your business…where you are now and where you want to be next year. It’s a time for goal-setting!

Have you taken the time to sit down and put together your own goals? The best way to build your business and help customers meet their goals is to set goals yourself!

This is also the time when Beachbody releases new programs to help people get excited about working out and committing to new and different goals. It’s your job as the coach to make sure your customers and your contacts know what’s available so they can make the right decisions for themselves.

How Many People Will You Help?

I like to look at goals on a whole year basis, then break them down by quarter, and then by month. If you know how many people you helped this year, think about how many more people you want to help next year. Then break it down into quarters and figure out how many new people you’ll need to help each month.

As a coach building a team, you can think about this in terms of both customer- and team-building.

How Will You Get There?

Once you know where you want to go, you need to know how you’ll get there. You’re probably already doing this, but it’s important to focus on the four vital behaviors. Use the product and be proof that the products work, invite others to participate, celebrate successes and do your personal development. Doing these things regularly will help you move the needle in your business.

If you struggle with doing the vital behaviors, set goals for yourself each week. Tell yourself that you’ll reach out to three new people every week or share two success stories every month. Make your smaller goals actionable and something you have control over.

Look for Exponential Growth Opportunities

Growing a business is difficult, especially when you feel like you’re constantly looking for new customers to help. Instead, can you find people like you who are excited about growing something and helping other people? It’s much easier to help 10 people find two new customers each than it is to find 20 people yourself. When you focus on growing your team and downline, there’s no limit to how far you can grow.

The beauty of our business is that anyone can do it, but you have to want to do it. Look for customers who are rocking the programs and sharing like crazy. Those are great people to approach about becoming coaches themselves.

Get to Know New Programs

Coaches get early access to most new programs, and it’s important to try them out so we can share information with customers. They want to know what’s involved, how difficult the program is and what to expect, and the best way to share that information is to give the program a try.

It’s also important to know the timeline of the new programs. They’re often released on a pre-launch first and then added to On Demand weeks or even months later. As you’re determining what you’re going to share on social media, on your blog or via email, consider launch dates and when products are available to the public–and promote them.

Your business is what you make of it. No one is going to grow it for you. It’s up to you to decide how you want to grow, how much you want to share and how many hours you want to put into your business. Then it’s about doing the work.
