30 day breakaway

30 Day Breakaway

In Arizona, it’s the perfect time of year to take up running. The weather is great and you can run any time of day (instead of having to get up before dawn to beat the heat). Even if you’re dealing with snow or blustery temperatures right now, running is still a great release.

That’s why I’m so excited that Beachbody recently released 30 Day Breakaway, a running-meets-resistance training challenge that’s designed to help you lose weight and train for a 5k at the same time.

Now, I’m not a runner but I can see the benefits of this program. Hosted by Super Trainer Idalis Velazquez, you’ll learn how to build lean muscle and increase miles so you can cross the finish line of your first (or perhaps fastest) 5k.

This program is a bit different from the traditional Beachbody programs that require DVDs or streaming. There is a video component, but you’ll also be able to head outside (or on the treadmill) for audio downloads that you take with you on your run.

You’ll also get access to 10 resistance workouts, a stretch and recovery workout, a video to learn the basics of running for any beginners, Spotify playlists, a nutrition guide, workout calendars and so much more.

The challenge and completion packs include Ultimate Portion Fix and 2B Mindset so you can choose which one is right for your needs.

One of the best parts of the program is that you probably already have the equipment you need, especially if you’ve already been working out from home. It requires some dumbbells, resistance loops, a good pair of running shoes, and a foam roller to help with muscle recovery.

I’m not sure I’ll be running any marathons anytime soon (or ever) but I love the idea of incorporating some running into what I’m already doing.

Who’s going to give this one a try?
